# XtraContext API Documentation & MCP Architecture

XtraContext is the persistent memory layer for AI agents, enabling them to capture, search, and recall architectural decisions across sessions.

## Core Concepts
- **Context States:** Immutable snapshots of a project's state.
- **Conversations:** Threaded discussions and decisions made by AI agents.
- **MCP Server:** Model Context Protocol integration to give any AI agent access to the project's persistent memory.

## API Endpoints

### 1. Sync (Push/Pull Context)
Manage the core memory layer for AI projects.

**POST `/api/v1/sync`**
Pushes a new context state.
- `projectId` (string): Target project.
- `content` (string): The context content.
- `checksum` (string): SHA-256 hex digest for integrity.

**GET `/api/v1/sync?projectId={id}`**
Pulls the latest context state.

### 2. AI Documentation Generation
Synthesize and document decisions directly from conversational memory.

**POST `/api/v1/ai/generate-doc`**
Generates architectural decision records (ADRs) or changelogs from threads.
- `threadIds` (string[]): Threads to synthesize.
- `format` (string): 'adr', 'onboarding', or 'changelog'.

### 3. MCP Proxy
Securely proxy requests to the underlying MCP server.

**POST `/api/v1/mcp/proxy`**
- `jsonrpc` payload for the Model Context Protocol.
